There are several animal charities and other organisations that provide useful advice about the welfare of animals and pets.
**AVIAN INFLUENZA (BIRD FLU)**
There has been an increase in reported Bird Flu cases in the UK.
We advise that members of the public do not pick up sick birds or handle dead ones, if you do come across any sick or dead birds its is a legal obligation to report it to APHA (Animal and Plant Health Agency) or DAERA (Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs)

An animal welfare charity and humane society in the United Kingdom which specialises in the well-being of dogs. Dogs Trust have the motto: "We never put a healthy dog down." Services include re-homing and fostering.

Dogs in Need is a registered charity which re-homes dogs no longer required by their present owners.
RSPCA
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals specialises in animal rescue and working to improve the welfare of animals.
